Finding a best workplace - infographic

For many people a new year is often looked at as an opportunity for a fresh job.  If your plans for a new job this year are off to a slow start here are four tips from our HR Team for finding a great workplace.

4 tips for a fresh start

Here are four tips from our HR team if you’re thinking about a new job:

1. Make a plan
Identify the type of workplace and job you really want and put a plan in place for what you need to do to get it.

2. Review your online presence
Future employers will be doing their homework on you, so make sure your online presence reflects the type of employee you’ll be.

3. Tailor your CV
Make sure your CV highlights your skills and the problems you solved.  This will help a future employer picture what you could add to their organisation.

4. Do your homework
Research the company you’re thinking about applying to.  Find out all you can from their website, social media presence and from your own network of friends and colleagues.   This will help you decide if the company is right for you before you apply.  And what you know about the business will come through in your cover letter and interview.

What does a best workplace look like?

At Rothbury, work is more than just a job. We offer opportunities for you to be passionate about what you do.  2016 saw us reach the top three best medium-large workplaces in New Zealand in the IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Awards.

IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces is the largest and longest running employee engagement survey in New Zealand and a definitive measure for ‘best employer’ and 'employer of choice'.  It provides valuable employee insights to help businesses improve employee engagement and enables participants to create a more successful business.

Here’s what our people had to say about working at Rothbury.
