HistoryA Business Is Founded On Coming TogetherOn April 1 2005 Rothbury Insurance Brokers merged with Commercial & General Insurance Brokers to form C&G Rothbury Insurance Brokers. The result was the creation of one of New Zealand’s largest insurance broking networks. In January 1 2009 the business took on a new ‘old’ name and we’re now known as Rothbury Insurance Brokers.Rothbury first started business in 1950 as an Auckland-based insurance consultancy with the aim of providing clients in that region greater choice and support in insurance matters. What started as a small one man business, committed to providing greater choice and support in insurance matters, soon grew. It wasn’t too long before branches opened in Whangarei, Wellington and Christchurch. Meanwhile, in 1990 Commercial and General Insurance Brokers (or as they are generally known) started in Invercargill when two local businesses agreed to merge. This move gave the size and strength to springboard into a dominant position in South Island insurance broking. The business quickly branched out through Southland and Otago and then further a field to Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. As the two venture’s paths crossed, and common visions and styles were shared, the benefits of creating one entity became apparent. Now with offices across the country, Rothbury is recognised as one of New Zealand’s largest insurance broking networks. One that provides true national account servicing and, through the group’s greater buying power, results in the most appropriate solutions for clients. |
