This policy is only available for travellers leaving from New Zealand and must be arranged prior to departure.
Travel Plans
There are three Travel Plans available each covering specific countries. You much state the option you require when you complete this application.
Travel Plan A is for travel to USA, Canada, Central & South America, Japan, Europe, Russia, Africa or the Middle East.
Travel Plan B is for travel to UK, Ireland, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and the rest of the world, excluding Plan A countries above.
Travel Plan C is for travel to: Australia, the South Pacific Islands excluding Bali

Excess
A $75 policy excess applies applies to sections of the policy, please refer to the policy document for full details.
For $15 you can buy out the excess, meaning you will have $0 excess on any claims. This does not apply to the Rental Vehicle Excess section of the policy.
Age Surcharges
Age needn't be a barrier to travel. If you're 70 years of age or over, add the correct 'age surcharge' to your premium:

Pre-existing Medical Conditions
You're not automatically covered for pre-existing medical conditions, however cover can be arranged in certain circumstances. For the purposes of our travel policy, controlled hypertension or controlled asthma are not considered pre-existing conditions. If you require cover for a pre-existing medical condition, call our Medical Advisor on 0800 844 477 toll free so your needs can be assessed. Before you call, you'll need the following information:
- Description of the medical condition
- Details of medication or treatment prescribed
- Date of last visit to your doctor
- Your doctors name and address
If our Medical Advisor accepts cover on your pre-existing medical condition:
- We'll advise you of your approval number
- An additional premium of $35 will be charged
Specified Items
If you need cover for personal items over $1,500 all you need to do is specify the item and pay an additional premium of 1.5% of their total value. Please note though, that the following items are automatically covered for their full value, if valued under $2,500 each:
- Bicycles
- Cameras and video cameras
- Portable electrical/electronic equipment (with attached and unattached accessories).
The maximum amount for specified items is $5,000 for any one item or $15,000 total for all items. Written valuations may be required in the event of a claim.

Our co-coordinators provide around-the-clock assistance including:
- putting you in touch with local doctors, dentists and clinics
- arranging for a doctor to visit you
- having you admitted to hospital
- arranging emergency evacuation and repatriation
- helping replace lost travel documents
- rescheduling disrupted travel plans
- organising emergency cash
- arranging contact with Embassy, Consulate or other legal representation.
